It might be the year 2022 (still waiting on those Y2K flying cars *taps foot impatiently*), but you’d never know it from looking at the legitimately Jurassic skincare products that fill our store shelves. If an actual scientist has trouble reading the ingredient list on a bottle of face wash, how is any normal person supposed to know what to buy? We live in a time where more is not only better, it’s the ONLY way; huge companies making stronger acids, bigger bottles, more steps. MORE!!! But why? If more people than ever are suffering from skin conditions like acne, rosacea, psoriasis, and dandruff…. Is “more” really working?

At HighCoolCat we thought it was time for some change, but breaking into the skincare game is no easy feat. We armed ourselves with the technology, knowledge, and resources to design safe, simple, natural products that work BETTER than the chemically laden products our parents were stuck with… but we couldn’t be afraid to think outside the box.

When we started creating this skincare line, our mission was simple: make a line of safe products that actually WORK! And I couldn’t continue to talk about the effectiveness of this line without introducing our star ingredient: CBD!

So, why CBD? Well yes, we are fans of the hemp plant around here- but in all honesty we were simply amazed when we began researching the use of CBD for topical applications. We’ve still yet to find any other ingredient that does SO much, SO gently.

Decades of research has shown us the almost magical healing properties of CBD.

When absorbed topically, (like in a face wash, lotion, or even shampoo) CBD has been shown to improve or heal a variety of skin conditions.

For those that suffer from mild to moderate, persistent acne, CBD could be the missing ingredient in your routine. Acne is caused by an overgrowth of bacteria- this often leads to unsightly red and raised bumps. It can feel like an endless cycle, and an uphill battle. CBD has  antimicrobial, antibacterial, antifungal AND anti inflammatory properties. It’s a lot of “anti”’s, but what this means is that it kills acne cause bacteria, it kills the bacteria’s food, AND it helps eliminate the redness and swelling that makes acne so horrible. Everyone deserves to roll out of bed, fresh faced and confident. Plus, more makeup free mornings mean less chance to spread bacteria and much more beautiful, healthy skin.

And while acne is the most common skin ailment in the US (and it def ranks towards the top as the most obnoxious, frustrating, and mentally taxing), we designed this CBD line with EVERYONE in mind. Why not harness these magical CBD powers to also help those with other skin conditions? From eczema to psoriasis, from extremely sensitive skin to skin drier than the Sahara desert, from hair loss to uncomfortable and embarrassing scalp conditions, we’ve done our best to make a CBD line with different products to address many different skin concerns.

Or maybe you’re one of the lucky few who’s been blessed with problem free skin? Well, CBD has strong anti-aging and hydrating properties as well…. And aging is something NONE of us can quite outrun.

After countless hours with our R&D team, we created formulations packed with powerfully healing CBD and natural botanicals. We’ve skipped the fillers and the cheap ingredients and put a lot of love and science into making this line truly effective. And yes, we couldn’t be more ecstatic to marry our love for skincare AND hemp.

We are beyond proud and excited to have succeeded in finding a balance between using gentle and natural ingredients that ALSO pack a strong medicinal punch. To be a part of this wellness revolution is humbling and we hope more and more people turn to a more simple approach to their health. Sometimes less really is more.

We know you have a lot of options (maybe too many) and we’re so thankful you chose to be a part of our crew.
